Try adding the Freecorder Chrome Add-on manually. Download and run the Freecorder chrome extension installer.

On Chrome 21.0.1180.75 or later, you may see the message "extensions, apps and scripts can only be added from the Chrome store". You can add still add the Freecorder extension as follows:

1. Download the freecorder.crx file, and save it on your PC.
2. Click the Chrome settings wrench on the upper right hand part of the Chrome window.
3. Go to Tools, Extensions from the menu, The Manage Add-ons window appears.
4. Locate the freecorder.crx file you downloaded in step 1, and drag it into into the Manage Add-ons window.

Try adding the Freecorder Firefox add-on manually. Click here to install it.

Sometimes the Freecorder application part doesn't get installed. You can install it separately by downloading and running this file:

Freecorder has two parts, the browser buttons, and the Freecorder applications. You need to install both.

1. Install the browser buttons. Download and run the proper file for your browser:

• Internet Explorer buttons installer
• Firefox buttons installer
• Chrome buttons installer
  

2. Install the Freecorder applications by downloading and running this file:

Go to Start, Control Panel, Remove Programs, and remove any entries that start with "Freecorder 6". There will be two to four, depending upon how many different browsers you have installed.

You can also manually remove Freecorder from your browser as follows:

• For Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Manage Add-ons, and disable Freecorder 6 (under Applian Technologies Inc.).
• For Firefox, go to Tools, Add-ons, then find Freecorder 6 and click Remove.
• For Google Chrome, click the Wrench icon, then choose Tools, Extensions, then click the trash can next to Freecorder 6.

If you reinstall the Freecorder applications this will fix the problem. Click here to download and install the updated applications.

YouTube changed how they present videos, which is what caused the problem. (Sept. 17, 2012)

The video may be encrypted. Try using Freecorder Screen to record it.

Sending us a log from your Freecorder session helps us greatly. Here's how to do it:

1. Open the Freecorder module that is causing the crash.
2. Go to Help, About, from the menu, then choose the Support tab.
   
   
   
   
3. Click Enable Debug Mode.
4. Do the task that caused Freecorder to crash.
5. Reopen the Freecorder module, and return to Help, About, Support.
6. Click Email logs to support.
